Registration and Event Information to Kick-off the 2014-2015 School Year

The District  “Annual Update” window will open August 6, 2014 on or about noon.  Parents will receive an email notification from the district that the system is open.  You should have an active Infinite Campus/Parent Portal account with the District.  We suggest that you log-into your account now and make sure that your log-in and password are working at http://www.srvusd.net/parent_portal.  Please be sure to complete your "Annual Update" process by August 22nd. Upon completion you will receive an email confirmation and link to Montair to complete your registration.  If you have any questions or issues on logging in, you can contact Linda Scanlon in the Montair Office or email portalhelp@srvusd.net.

The Montair on-line registration site will also open on August 6th.  Be on the lookout for another email announcing the site being open from Montair.

Please mark your calendar for Thursday, August 21st (3pm-6pm) for the 2014-2015 school year walk-through registration.  Spirit wear will be available for purchase at registration! 

The Kindergarten Welcome Ice Cream Social will be at Hap Magee Park on Wednesday, August 20th from 10:30-12:00.

New Parent/Family Tour  - Thursday, August 21st at 6pm.  New families with children entering grades 1-5, please join some veteran parents as we offer new families a tour of our beautiful campus.  Frozen treats will be offered and we encourage kids to come.  Questions contact: Jen Kral at jen@kralfamily.net

First Day of School is Monday, August 25th with a minimum day dismissal at noon for grades 1-5.  Join us after for the First Day of School Family Lunch.

Classroom assignments for the 2014-15 school year will be available through the District Parent Portal on Friday, August 22nd in the afternoon.

New School Volunteer Guidelines and Procedures

The District will be implementing a new Volunteer Management System this Fall.  This system will allow for three levels of volunteer clearance and tracking for Classroom Aides and other on-campus volunteers; Field Trip Drivers; and Overnight Chaperones.  More information will be provided once you have completed your Annual Update process in August.

ATTENTION PARENTS

Please read the following notice from the District Office about missing the last 10 days of school at the end of the year or the first 3 days at the beginning of the year:

Students should be in attendance through the last day of school, June 12, 2014, to maintain their enrollment status at their current school. Independent study contracts will not be issued the last 10 days of school. All independent study contract work must be finished and submitted by May 29, 2014 in order for work to be graded and attendance to be recorded. 

If your child must leave school earlier than 10 school days (May 29) before the last day of school and does not return before the end of the school year, your child may be subject to the following consequences: 

  • Incomplete or lowered final grades 

  • Review by school/district attendance review board 

  • Unenrolled and placed at the bottom of the 2014-15 waitlist. 

Missing the First Three Days of School 2014-15 
As you plan your summer vacation, be aware that school begins on Monday, August 25, 2014. Because our district is growing, schools are very full and many continue to have wait lists. As in the past, if your child does not attend the first three days of school, your student will be dropped from the school on Thursday, August 28, 2014
