Dear Montair Families,
"In the best classrooms, grades are only one of many types of feedback provided to students." - Douglas Reeves
Every year I hear wonderful stories of family holiday traditions. The holidays are filled with memories that last forever. I invite all students and parents at Montair to share their family traditions. I encourage your child to write me a friendly letter about your traditions. Parents and students are also welcome to share their stories on our school website in the comment section.
Report Cards will be sent home this Thursday, December 12th. My recommendation is for you to review the report card with your child. Praise your child for a job well done and for giving great effort. Consider making your child their favorite meal in honor of a great report card. It is important you ask them questions about what they are learning to let them know you're interested and excited about their success. Always keep in mind learning is a process. Once children discover the right strategies and learning behaviors they become confident learners. Your encouragement is the key to their success.
Multiple Montair student artists were honored at the San Ramon Valley Council of PTA's Reflections Showcase. Thank you to all the students who submitted art and congratulations to Aaron Yang, Fiona Boos, and Sanya Khan for their winning pieces. Sanya's Literature and Music selections will advance to the district level. A special thank you to Brooks Campbell and Cindy DeCredico being Montair's Reflection Chairpersons.
Thank to all families who participated in PTA's Family Fun Night. We had a great time playing Bingo. The bake sale was delicious. It was great seeing all the smiling faces, especially of the students who won raffle prizes. Thank you to Tahra Cyr, Patty Giammona and Marcie Schade and their many volunteers for hosting such a fun event!
Thank you to Jen Murphy and Huey Nah Murdough and the volunteer elves for bringing the Holiday Shoppe to school this year. Children were very excited about shopping buying wonderful gifts for parents and friends.
